What can we expect from a novel whose protagonists are named Atticus, Jem, Scout, Calpurnia or Dill? For something different, no doubt. To Kill a Mockingbird is distinct for its environment-southern United States, post Great Depression era, the psychology of his characters-southern U.S. - and by the ease with which addresses issues of draft: racial injustice, fear of change, rejection of what is different, the loss of innocence, prejudice of class ... Just take a look at the voice "To Kill a Mockingbird" in Wikipedia to realize that the book goes a long way. No tale of what will more or less because everyone knows the plot.
The book engages from start to finish, first with the adventures of children and the mystery of Boo Radley , then with the narrative of the trial and everything around him. To me what interested me most certainly was Atticus, for his moral integrity, and common sense, by the way they educate Scout and Jem. A giant. And I laughed a lot with the occurrences of Scout. I recommend it to everyone. And please, let no one say that you saw the movie : how good it is (Oscar for best adapted screenplay) and very good you Gregory Peck (best actor Oscar), is not the same, not even close.
